Together you\u2019ll practice on conveyor lifts, button lifts and gentle slopes. It can be hard work at times, but the reward comes when the little skier makes their first independent turns and rides the lift on their own. Here we\u2019ve gathered our tips on all the ski areas for children in \u00c5re \u2013 try them out and see which one suits your family best!    <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duved ski Area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skistar.com\/en\/ski-destinations\/are\/winter-in-are\/piste-maps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Piste map Duved<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Duved ski area, which is linked with Tegefj\u00e4ll, lies about 10 km west of \u00c5re village. The pace here is often a little slower and the slopes less crowded. The children\u2019s area is located just above the car park by the Duved chairlift (D3), to the right as you look up towards the slopes. The children\u2019s slope has the perfect gradient and features an easy-to-use conveyor lift. There\u2019s also a button lift (D4) called Torpliften.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to its position between the Duved chairlift (D3) and Ler\u00e5liften (D5), the area also offers excellent skiing for more advanced skiers right next to the children\u2019s slope \u2013 a clear advantage when families are at different levels or want to take turns in the kids\u2019 area. Ler\u00e5liften (D5) provides direct access to the gentle, rolling pistes in Tegefj\u00e4ll. When it\u2019s time to take the next step beyond the children\u2019s area, beginners can practise riding the drag lift at the bottom of Hamreliften (D2), which is the westernmost tow lift in the system.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting here<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By car:<\/strong> Take the E14 west from \u00c5re village. After about 10 km you\u2019ll reach Duved. The turn-off to the first car park is on the right, just before the exit down to Duved centre \u2013 so be ready. Another car park is located below the lift house, also with a right-hand turn-off from the E14 heading west. The children's ski area sits just below the E14 and is easy to reach by both car and ski bus. Here you'll find magic carpets and the Mini-Tege button lift (D8), making it the perfect place for beginners. Once the kids have mastered turning and stopping on their own, it's time to explore the Wilderness Trail \u2013 a magical forest run starting at the top of the Tegelift (D9), winding through the trees past wooden figures and storytelling stations along the way.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the children have mastered turning and stopping on their own, it\u2019s time for the Vildmarksstigen themed slope \u2013 a magical loop that winds from the top of Tegeliften (D9) through the forest, past carved wooden figures and stories along the way. The run finishes with a red slope, so if your child isn\u2019t quite ready for that challenge, you can guide them between your legs for the final stretch. Alternatively, you can cross to the other side of the chairlift and enjoy a longer run on a blue slope before joining the red section at the end. Park in the first designated car park on the right just after crossing the Tegefj\u00e4ll bridge. The easier, lower area is located below the warm-up hut, right next to the car park, while the upper area is above Restaurant Rautjoxa, just above the warm-up hut. In the lower area, there\u2019s a conveyor belt and a button lift. There\u2019s often a Valle course here for playing and practising slalom, and in the slope nearest the forest by the conveyor, it\u2019s perfect for sledging.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your children have outgrown the lower area, the upper area awaits, featuring two slightly longer parallel button lifts. This lift runs through the forest, so it\u2019s not as easy to ski off the slope if you fall. This slope is wide, with a perfect gradient and usually plenty of snow, making it a long-lasting favourite. There\u2019s also a Valleland with forest trails for variety. When it\u2019s time to move on, the right-hand lift at R\u00f6dkullen gives access to the green run straight from the lift. You can also take the R\u00f6dkullelift all the way to the top and enjoy long, wide turns on the R\u00f6de Orm run \u2014 just watch out for intersecting pistes.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting here<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By car:<\/strong> Take the E14 west from \u00c5re village and turn right at the sign for R\u00f6dkullen\/Ull\u00e5dalen. There\u2019s a large car park in R\u00f6dkullen directly next to the children\u2019s area, the other lifts, and the warming hut.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By ski bus<\/strong>: Take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skistar.com\/en\/ski-destinations\/are\/winter-in-are\/services\/ski-bus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ski bus<\/a> from \u00c5re village, Bj\u00f6rnen, Duved, or Tegefj\u00e4ll. The fastest route is from \u00c5re village.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Via the ski system:<\/strong> Take VM8:an and ski down the connecting slope west towards R\u00f6dkullen. Children need to be able to turn and stop on their own, or they can ski between an adult\u2019s legs. The children's area features beginner-friendly slopes and lifts, while the centre offers barbecue areas, a climbing course, two magic carpets and plenty of other activities to keep little ones entertained. Before tackling the longer Vargen button lift (B42), beginners can build their confidence on three shorter button lifts.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to the Nalle button lift (B45) you'll find Little Bj\u00f6rnlandet, a short forest trail filled with carved wooden animals. Turn left at the top of the Nalle lift and you'll often discover a fun course to explore. At the top of the J\u00e4rven lift (B44) lies Bj\u00f6rnlandet, where children should be able to turn and stop on their own. The gentle gradient, frequent stopping points and plenty of places to take a break also make it a great area for skiing with younger children between your skis.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forest trails and kids' parks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bj\u00f6rnen also offers plenty of green and blue runs directly connected to the children's area, making it the perfect place for young skiers \u2013 and older beginners \u2013 to build confidence and progress at their own pace. If you're ready for something new, there are several fun forest trails to explore. Older children will also enjoy the Kids' Park, located in the upper part of Bj\u00f6rnenbacken between the Bj\u00f6rnen lift (B40) and the Vargen lift (B42). Once you're ready for the next step, take the Sadelexpress chairlift (B37), which connects Bj\u00f6rnen with \u00c5re Village's main ski area.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting here<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By car:<\/strong> From \u00c5re village, drive east on the E14 towards Bj\u00f6rn\u00e4nge and turn left at the petrol station\/Ica Bj\u00f6rn\u00e4nge. There are several car parks in Bj\u00f6rnen, but the upper ones, opposite \u00c5re XC Arena, are recommended when it\u2019s busy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By ski bus:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skistar.com\/en\/ski-destinations\/are\/winter-in-are\/services\/ski-bus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ski bus<\/a> runs easily from \u00c5re village to Bj\u00f6rnen and Sadeln. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Via the ski system:<\/strong> Bj\u00f6rnen is connected to \u00c5re by via Hermelinenliften (B38) and also via Sadeln, but for the smallest skiers this can be tricky. It\u2019s easiest to start in Bj\u00f6rnen to save energy for the rest of the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BBQ area:<\/strong> Yes, several BBQs by the conveyor lifts and at the bottom of Lokattliften (B41).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Warming hut: <\/strong>By M\u00e5rdenliften (B43), near Bj\u00f6rnen centre | <strong>Toilets<\/strong>: In the warm-up hut and at J\u00e4rvenliften (B44). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nearest Eatery:<\/strong> <a href=\"\/en\/companies\/crowded-house\/\">Crowded House<\/a> serves food in the warm-up hut and also at the top stations of Vargenliften (B42) and Bj\u00f6rnenliften (B40). <a href=\"\/en\/companies\/carins-krog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carins Krog<\/a> is located near the conveyor lifts at Bj\u00f6rnen Ski Centre, and Caf\u00e9 Idet is at J\u00e4rvenliften (B44). During certain periods of the season, the lifts also have extended opening hours. It's a great way to make the most of your day on the mountain, and skiing under the lights is a memorable experience for both children and adults.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skistar.com\/en\/ski-destinations\/are\/winter-in-are\/weather-and-slopes\/?tab=89089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hours<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ski school<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ski school is available in all of \u00c5re's children's ski areas. If you\u2019re looking for a quieter pace, there are several lovely family-friendly ski areas nearby. Pictures are projected onto the snow and music plays along the route. You can ride it during the day too, but it\u2019s much more magical in the evening with lights and music. Open when the VM8an is running for night skiing.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Valle's disco<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c5re and Skistar\u2019s own mascot, Valle, hosts loads of fun activities for the youngest skiers.
