Get ready for your winter adventure! Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the ski areas and ski passes in \u00c5re, Duved and Bj\u00f6rnen. We\u2019ve got you covered \u2013 read on and start planning your best days on snow. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening dates and hours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00c5re\u2019s ski area is actually made up of three parts. The largest and most central is \u00c5re by (\u00c5re village), which is directly linked to the family-friendly Bj\u00f6rnen ski area. About 6 km to the west lies Tegefj\u00e4ll, which in turn is connected to Duved, a little further west. Both Duved and Tegefj\u00e4ll have fewer lifts and slopers than \u00c5re by but offer great skiing, for kids and beginners but also for more advanced skiers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winter season starts<\/strong> as soon as there\u2019s enough snow to open up the ski area. Usually, that means end of November, or the start of December. For the 2025\/2025 season, the official opening date is December 12th and, unless anything unforeseen happens, the lifts run until May 3, 2026. The lifts in Bj\u00f6rnen and Duved\/Tegefj\u00e4ll close in April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During peak season, the lifts\u2019 opening hours are extended and the upper mountain area usually opens in January, or as soon as there\u2019s enough snow to provide good skiing. Different parts of each ski area might also have other opening hours than those given here. Good to know!<\/strong> When on site, it\u2019s useful to have the Skistar app ready on your phone. It allows you to add days to your ski pass, notifies you of any changes in opening hours and other useful information, such as weather warnings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkiPass in \u00c5re: SkiPass<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are several kinds of ski passes available via Skistar\u2019s website and app. You can choose to purchase for a day, for a few days, a week and the whole season. The Skistar All Ski Pass is valid at all Skistar\u2019s destinations such as Vemdalen and Bj\u00f6rnrike. Also, if you have a season pass, you may register your vehicle to that ski pass and park for free at Skistar\u2019s parking lots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can book and buy your ski pass at the Skistar shops but booking and purchasing your ski pass digitally via the Skistar website or app is encouraged to avoid crowding. Downloading and using the app also allows you to refill you ski pass. Pleas note that you do need a physical ski pass which is a plastic card to be able to refill and you need to enter the ski area lifts. The ski pass gives you access to all the ski areas, meaning you can ski in \u00c5re by, Bj\u00f6rnen and Duved\/Tegefj\u00e4ll using the same ski pass. Your ski pass also give you access to the ski bus (see below). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids under 7 years of age ski free of charge but only if they are using a helmet which, of course, is highly recommended for all alpine skiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids and beginner skiers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are some great options for both kids and beginners as each ski area offers places where you can start your skiing experience and where you can find magic carpets, beginner\u2019s drag lifts and easy access to quick bites and toilets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
