Easter is the master of the fifth Season as we don\u2019t just celebrate for traditional reasons but because we get the chance to have time off with our loved ones, friends and family, to eat and drink well, take it slow or do everything at once. \u00c5re is a great place to visit at Easter and the options for making your stay enjoyable are plentiful. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get the most out of skiing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ski area is open longer during Easter so you can maximise skiing or chose to whenever you feel like enjoying Easter skiing. The conditions in the high zone are particularly nice and if you go non-stop from peak to valley, you\u2019ll experience the difference between cold, crispy snow and sorbet skiing. Always double-check the opening hours on SkiStar\u2019s website<\/a> or in their apps. <\/p>\n\n\n

Swedish fika<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Almost wherever you chose to go in \u00c5re, there\u2019s waffles available<\/a>. Go on a tour an explore, for example, Lill\u00e5stugans V\u00e5ffelbruk<\/a> in Ull\u00e5dalen, Bergstugan by Fr\u00f6\u00e5 gruva<\/a> in Bj\u00f6rnen, V\u00e5ffelk\u00e5tan<\/a> by the VM8:an chair lift, or Vita Renen<\/a> located on Renfj\u00e4llet (there are other choices on the menu as well). There are also plenty of choice in the ski area, so check out the slope restaurants<\/a> available here. In addition, we recommend trying a Swedish fika in or around \u00c5re. Check out the cafes and bakeries here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try other skiis <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Easter is maybe the biggest holiday for ski touring and cross-country skiing. In and around \u00c5re and in S\u00f6dra \u00c5refj\u00e4llen, there are plenty of trails, from short and\/or easy to really long and\/or advanced to chose from. There are also a variety of choices for the smallest skiers. Find your perfect choice via the digital trail map \u00c5re Trails<\/a> and if you don\u2019t have the equipment needed, rental is available. Activity bonanza<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jump away at JumpYard,<\/a> challenge yourselves to some indoor climbing<\/a> in Duved and follow up with their waffle buffet, book a snowmobile safari<\/a>, go on excursions<\/a>, heat up in the sauna<\/a> or swim<\/a> \u2013 regardless of the weather and snow conditions there are things to do to pass the time in \u00c5redalen (and have fun while doing it). Keep the easter egg topped up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit \u00c5re Chokladfabrik<\/a> (\u00c5re Chocolate Factory) in Bj\u00f6rn\u00e4nge and indulge in pure chocolate joy. But an Easter egg filling doesn\u2019t have to be edible. Take a look at the local producers<\/a> of everything from local food produce to ceramics and furniture, at places like \u00c5re Glashytta<\/a> and \u00c5re Hemsl\u00f6jd<\/a>, to find something to bring home with you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore other areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eds\u00e5sdalen<\/a>, Trillevallen<\/a> and V\u00e5l\u00e5dalen<\/a> are not far from \u00c5re and offer scenic ski trails of varying length and difficulty, and you\u2019ll get to experience the mountainous scenes typical of the county. The digital trail guide \u00c5re Trails <\/a>is a great tool for choosing the best trail for you and you can read up on other ski areas here<\/a>. Eds\u00e5sdalen and Trillevallen also offer alpine skiing, particularly suitable if you want a slower pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c5re themed easter eggs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Painting Easter Eggs is tradition as well established as eating sill (herring) on Easter. And it\u2019s not just for kids \u2013 with a little creativity, it\u2019s a great activity for friends too. Who can paint the fastest skier or do the most realistic rendition of the cable car \u00c5re kabinbana? Make a Gondola miniature and decorate the apartment \u2013 the possibilities only end where your imagination does. For materials, colors etcetera, visit \u00c5re Stationshus (\u00c5re Central Station). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make it a draw<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you can\u2019t decide how to spend the day because everyone wants different things: Do an activity lottery.
Each person writes down three things they want to do on three separate pieces of paper. Then put the slips in a container, shake, and pull one out. The rule is that everyone must accept the activity and participate. This can keep you busy all Easter weekend. A hot tip is to set a framework for what the word activity involves before you start\u2026;) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great food and breakfasts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no shortage of great food produce and enjoyable restaurant meals in and around \u00c5re. Take a shopping tour<\/a> in the valley and make something delicious on your own, top it off with drinks from some or all of the local breweries.<\/a> If you don\u2019t want to make it yourselves, the variety of restaurants<\/a> and bars in \u00c5re is unprecedented in the Swedish mountains. Also, treat yourselves to an enjoyable breakfast<\/a> at a bakery or restaurant \u2013 it tastes so good when made by a pro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
