The Winter Holiday is here and it\u2019s time for all children, small and grown-up alike, to enjoy all the activities that \u00c5re has to offer. Here are our best tips for a fun Winter holiday in \u00c5re. Nibble on waffles, take a cross-country excursion, eat fantastic chocolates or test out the Zipline \u2013 the options are plenty! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ski in the children\u2019s areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00c5re\u2019s largest children\u2019s ski area is in Bj\u00f6rnen<\/a> with magic carpets, button lifts, a sledding slope, easy snowpark elements and Bj\u00f6rnlandet (Land of the Bears) where the children can meet the entire bear family and other animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In R\u00f6dkullen there is a magic carpet and a short button lift in the lower children\u2019s area and longer button lifts with forest tracks and slalom course in the upper. Valle has his own ski country with an adventure course here as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tegefj\u00e4ll <\/a>has a button lift and a magic carpet on the lower side of the E14 road. In Tegefj\u00e4ll there\u2019s also the exciting Vildmarksstigen (Wilderness Trail) with forest skiing and tree animals which starts from the top of the Tegeliften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Duved<\/a>, the children\u2019s area is located to the east of the chair lift Linbanan. Next to the button lift Torpliften you will also find a magic carpet for the smallest children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valle the Snowman \u2013 every child's best friend \u2013 might pop up anywhere on the slopes in \u00c5re. Make Valle smile by waving hello or making a heart with your hands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All children aged 7 and under ski free when wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n\n\n

Munch on chocolates at \u00c5re chokladfabrik<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Drop by the factory shop and caf\u00e9 \u00c5re chokladfabrik in Bj\u00f6rn\u00e4nge<\/a>, there is no place where a hot cocoa tastes better than here! Sample their handmade and delicious chocolates and bring all the favorites home with you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross country skiing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go on a cross-country excursion together, the XC Arena in Bj\u00f6rnen<\/a> offers long and short, flat and hilly tracks. In other words, there is something for everyone! Along the flat one-kilometer track is a wind shelter with a barbecue area right by Fr\u00f6\u00e5tj\u00e4rn with a view of the mountain \u00c5reskutan, this after about halfway. Bring sausages and grill an outdoor lunch together, a perfect daytime activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waffel feast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No holiday in \u00c5re without waffles! There are plenty of places that serve waffles by the cross-country trails and by the slopes. Take a trip to Vita Renen, Ytterstvallen at Trillevallen, V\u00e5ffelk\u00e5tan, Fr\u00f6\u00e5 Gruva. Find your waffles. >><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

Climb the walls or rally a ball<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00c5re Kl\u00e4tterhall<\/a> has quickly become a go-to hub for active fun in Duved. Opened last February, this place now offers indoor climbing for everyone from curious first-timers to seasoned climbers. You\u2019ll find routes that feel just right \u2014 challenging without being overwhelming \u2014 and plenty of room to grow, one hold at a time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re keen to try something new, there are intro sessions, courses, and one-on-one coaching. And beyond the walls, the adventure continues with ice climbing\u2014both beginner introductions and unforgettable experiences for anyone ready to step onto frozen vertical terrain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climbing gym is part of \u00c5re Sportcenter,<\/a> making it easy to keep the day going. Hit the gym, play a match of padel or tennis, or grab a coffee at the caf\u00e9. It\u2019s the perfect place to land when the weather drives you indoors\u2014and your body still wants to move. <\/p>\n\n\n

Browse Lattjo Toy Store's<\/a> wide selection of games and puzzles at the railway station. At Holiday Club<\/a>, the whole family can enjoy bowling, adventure mini golf and plenty of other fun activities. During the February school holidays, the arena also hosts Winter Camp<\/a>. And when there's plenty of snow in \u00c5re, the possibilities for outdoor play are endless. Build a snow cave, make snow angels, cosy up in a snow pit or gather around a crackling fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit frozen waterfalls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ristafallet<\/a>, or Glupafallet as it was called in the movie about Ronia, the Robber\u2019s Daughter, is located close to \u00c5re. When it freezes in the winter it is a magical sight for children and grown-ups alike. To the west of \u00c5re, you\u2019ll find Sweden\u2019s largest waterfall, T\u00e4nnforsen<\/a>. Seeing the fantastic ice formations is really amazing experience. You can drive to both waterfalls on your own or book a tour with a guide to find out more about these magnificent natural sights. <\/p>\n\n\n

Jump at JumpYard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Climbing, jumping or hang gliding through the hall in a harness \u2013 does it sound like fun? It is! Try new things and have endless fun whether you\u2019re young or an adult. The trampoline arena JumpYard<\/a> is open for everyone. During holiday times we recommend to make a reservation in advance. <\/p>\n\n\n
