If you\u2019re not a fan of sand between your toes or unpredictable water temperatures, there are also excellent indoor options. Welcome to the best swimming spots in \u00c5re!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll never regret taking the plunge \u2013 whether it\u2019s a dip in an icy hole in the winter, braving the waves in autumn, or those hottest days in \u00c5re when the entire valley seems to be basking in the sun. A refreshing swim in a mountain lake or tarn filled with meltwater is the perfect reward after a day of hiking, running or cycling. And a trip to one of \u00c5re\u2019s best beaches is an adventure, whether you\u2019re with family, friends, or simply enjoying some me-time with a book or a podcast.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good to know<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some of the outdoor swimming spots listed below have no facilities such as toilets or eateries. Bring your own food (and bring your waste, including left-overs, back with you, and make sure that you know how to do your business outdoors. This is especially important near water as there\u2019s a risk that the water might be contaminated if it\u2019s not done properly.  <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.svenskaturistforeningen.se\/guider-tips\/allemansratten\/allemansrattsskolan\/\">Learn how to go to the toilet outdoors here.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parking near popular swimming spots such as Grundsviken or Ottsj\u00f6 Strandbad might fill up fast on a beautiful day. Please pay attention to how you park so that as many as possible fit into the allotted parking spaces and so that your vehicle doesn\u2019t hinder traffic or rescue personell in case of emergency.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave the beach or swimming spot as you\u2019d like to find it: clean and tidy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Swim outdoors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c5re beach<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Central \u00c5re<\/em><br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/zTdCbH4GUhiG2LgDA\">Map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to Holiday Club you\u2019ll find the nearest beach in \u00c5re village. It\u2019s a sandy beach with easy access to ice cream and caf\u00e9s. There are bins, benches and barbecue spots available. The water is shallow, making it easier for the little ones to take a dip with some help. Water shoes are recommended.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The marina<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Central \u00c5re<\/em><br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Vg89PEaMU4ZwHxFQ9\">Map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From \u00c5rev\u00e4gen, turn off over the road bridge towards Holiday Club (near Coop and Systembolaget). Just to the left after the bridge, you\u2019ll find the path leading to \u00c5re Beach and to the marina as well as the skate park. You can swim from the beach, which is often slightly warmer as the marina lies in a bay, or from the jetties. There\u2019s also a large wooden deck for sunbathers, and barbecue spots. Toilets are available at JumpYard, which bathers are welcome to use. If you arrive by car, you can park to the right of the road near JumpYard (subject to parking fees).    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ull\u00e5n<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>7 km from \u00c5re village<br><\/em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/YqgroacshAEAn8o6A\">See map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ull\u00e5n is practically a natural waterpark. The water can be quite cold, but on warm summer days, it\u2019s perfect for cooling off and offers fun for both adults and children. You\u2019ll find naturally carved pools (usually a bit warmer), rushing mini waterfalls, and rocks smoothed into natural slides. It\u2019s a cosy, sandy beach with a bit more comfort, featuring a designated barbecue area and an outhouse. By car, drive east on the E14 from \u00c5re, turn right in Unders\u00e5ker and cross the bridge towards V\u00e5l\u00e5dalen. Continue straight along the gravel road until you find the spot.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ottsj\u00f6 beach<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>30 km from \u00c5re village<br><\/em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/5osckUbQh3jqzEuF8\">See map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beautiful Ottsj\u00f6 is surrounded by mountains and forests, offering a top-notch Swedish swimming experience. Drive east from \u00c5re, turn off at Unders\u00e5ker, cross the bridge and head towards V\u00e5l\u00e5dalen. Just after the bridge crossing Stor\u00e5n, you can park on the left-hand side of the road. From there, it\u2019s about 200 metres down to the beach. From \u00c5re, drive along the E14 towards J\u00e4rpen and turn off at Slags\u00e5n. Look out for a sign to Helgesj\u00f6n in the forest and park sensibly when you arrive. No facilities available.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hensj\u00f6n Eds\u00e5sdalen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>24 km from \u00c5re village<br><\/em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ZfkyzjQtJs6cGXVs6\">See map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hensj\u00f6n in Eds\u00e5sdalen has a barbecue area, an outhouse, and a large swimming jetty with ladders. From the far end of Eds\u00e5sdalen village, you\u2019ll find a gravel road, and about 1.5 km along that road, you\u2019ll reach Hensj\u00f6n. There\u2019s also a small sandy beach with shallow water.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Storgrundsviken\/Grundsviken<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>19 km from \u00c5re village<br><\/em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/3GGrA1oYPCtVbK5A8\">See map<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a long and lovely sandy beach by Lake Kall (Kallsj\u00f6n), with views of the beautiful Kallsbygden. Take the E14 from \u00c5re and turn up towards Bj\u00f6rnen, then continue towards Hus\u00e5. Shortly after you turn left from Fr\u00f6\u00e5v\u00e4gen, towards Hus\u00e5, you\u2019ll see the beach on the right-hand side of the road.
