Trollstigen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent: 163 m | Length:<\/strong> 1.3 km one way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exciting trip for both the young and older where you\u2019ll step into \u00c5re\u2019s mythical world through the rainbow Bifrost. Hiding along the path are troll and goblins so keep your eyes open. Some hide in the roots of trees and others turn into rocks during the daytime. Parts of \u00c5redalen\u2019s sagas and tales are written on signs along the way, like the story of The Giant Ruth in Skut and her battle with the Giant J\u00e4tt in Spett. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The path goes from \u00c5re Square, winds upwards, shielded from the woods and follows the upper part of the roaring M\u00f6rviks\u00e5n to Fj\u00e4llg\u00e5rden. For an easier trip, take the funicular up and walk down to \u00c5re Square instead. <\/p>\n\n\n

To get there<\/strong>: Follow Trail 212<\/a> from \u00c5re Square or in the opposite direction from Fj\u00e4llg\u00e5rden. The discovery part of the trail is from Vakth\u00f6gen just east of the VM6an, making your start or finish to the trail at the Cable Car optional. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n

Nalleklippan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent:<\/strong> 85 m | Length<\/strong>: about 1.2 km round trip<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A short hike, about 600 meters with a slight climb at the end that leads to one of \u00c5re\u2019s best viewpoints \u2013 Nalleklippan. The path goes from Hotell Fj\u00e4llg\u00e5rden, across Tottbacken\u2019s greenery and further up into Totthummeln\u2019s forest. When you arrive at Nalleklippan, there\u2019s a grill area perfect for a BBQ. If not, it\u2019s a great spot to stop and enjoy a packed lunch and view over \u00c5re. With a keen eye, you can even see the tower at Duved\u2019s Church and Tegeforsen at the beginning of Lake \u00c5resj\u00f6n. <\/p>\n\n\n

To get there<\/strong>: The easiest way to get to Nalleklippan is via Hotell Fj\u00e4llg\u00e5rden. Follow Trail 213<\/a> towards Totthummeln. When it divides \u2013 keep left (clockwise). After a few hundred meters, you\u2019ll see the \u201cNalleklippan\u201d sign.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Bj\u00f6rnlandet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent<\/strong>: 170 m | Length: <\/strong>about 1.4 km one way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experience hike for the smallest hikers through Bj\u00f6rnlandet with all its wooden bear characters. The trail starts at the Nalleliften valley station and then goes uphill. About half way (after about 1 km) you reach the barbecue area. You either stop there or continue all the way up to the top. <\/p>\n\n\n

To get there: <\/strong>The trail is called 220 <\/a>and runs from Carins Krog in Bj\u00f6rnen to J\u00e4rvenliften\u2019s mountain station.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n

Mt. \u00c5reskutans peak<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent:<\/strong> 146 m | Length:<\/strong> 2 km one way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little more weather sensitive adventure that\u2019ll give you the sensation of being on top of the world. Visit Toppstugan<\/a> \u2013 Sweden\u2019s highest caf\u00e9 and enjoy some crispy homemade waffles. The trail leads up the mountain with wide paths. <\/p>\n\n\n

Byxtj\u00e4rn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent:<\/strong> 140 m | Length:<\/strong> 2.15 km one way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour is mostly uphill approximately two kilometres one way. The trail to Byxtj\u00e4rn is quite well-used to and from Fr\u00f6\u00e5 Gruva, so the trail is wide making it easy to walk beside each other along the way. Some parts are wet (especially at the end) so it\u2019s a good idea to wear rubber boots if it\u2019s been raining. <\/p>\n\n\n

Once you get to Byxtj\u00e4rn, take off your shoes and socks and test the water temperature. The way back is downhill and easy after a good coffee and snack break. <\/p>\n\n\n

To get there:<\/strong> Follow Trail 221<\/a> west from Fr\u00f6\u00e5 Gruva towards Mt. \u00c5reskutan. The first bit is gravel, then the trail continues onto a wide forest trail. Trail 221 then leads to Lill\u00e5dammen and passes south of Byxtj\u00e4rn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torprundan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent:<\/strong> 76 m | Length:<\/strong> 3.2 km<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pleasant walk through the old mining community around Fr\u00f6\u00e5 Gruva<\/a>. Take a look inside and visit some of the well-kept homes. Along the trail you can read about the different homes and buildings, and the people and the life in a society that grew during the mining period between the years 1744-1919. During the summer, you\u2019ll find mountain cattle and sheep hanging in the hills around the mine. <\/p>\n\n\n

\u00c5torpsrundan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent<\/strong>\u00a090 m | Length<\/strong> 4,2 km<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr\u00f6\u00e5 Gruva is a wonderful place for a family outing, with scenic hiking trails for adventurers of all ages. \u00c5torpsrundan is an easy trail that winds through the forest, making it a great choice for a hike with the kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the historic mining site in Fr\u00f6\u00e5, you\u2019ll find a barbecue area with firewood provided. Pack your backpack with something tasty to grill and enjoy a well-deserved break after your hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And once everyone has refueled, there\u2019s still plenty to explore among the fascinating remains of the old mining site!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konst(ig)stigen (art trail)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascent:<\/strong> about 200 m | Length:<\/strong> 0,8 km<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole trail is lined with artistic installations that make it easy to keep small adventurers on the trail that climbs up a bit onto Renfj\u00e4llet. Glass flowers, steel wire birds, wood and fabric artwork are just some of the pieces to see and be inspired by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip is easy-to-reach and well-executed even for small hikers. If it\u2019s wet, hiking boots or rubber boots may be a good idea, but on a dry summer day sneakers are perfect. There\u2019s a wind shelter near the end of the trail where you can sit and look out over our beautiful mountains. In the late summer, it\u2019s perfect for children to create their own pieces in the Children\u2019s Theatre on Saturdays. Check out edsasdalen.se<\/a> for days and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get there: The path goes along part of Trail 220 \u2013 Renfj\u00e4llsrundan<\/a>. Park the car at one of Eds\u00e5sdalen\u2019s designated parking areas. The trail starts at Hedung\u2019s g\u00e5rd (farm) and a clear sign shows the road towards \u201cKonst(ig)stigen\u201d towards Renfj\u00e4llet.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fun fact:<\/strong> Konst(ig)stigen is entirely a result of the work of a local passionate enthusiast Ulla-Britt Sundstr\u00f6m. Ulla-Britt works with local art and showcasing art in a public space where both young and old can enjoy it. Konst(ig)stigen is open all summer for hiking. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
