In T\u00e5ngb\u00f6le, about 25 kilometers from \u00c5re, a small log hunting cabin sits on a hillside overlooking T\u00e5ngb\u00f6lestr\u00f6mmen. Barely bigger than a living room, this unassuming cabin is home to \u00c5re Nature Studio, a dining destination that has earned recognition far beyond the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, the menu follows the seasons, shaped by what the surrounding forests, waters, and local hunting traditions have to offer. Getting there<\/strong>: The easiest way to reach \u00c5re Nature Studio is by car. From \u00c5re, take the E14 west toward \u00c5nn and Storlien. Just after crossing T\u00e5ngb\u00f6lestr\u00f6mmen, take the first right. Keep right as you continue along the road for the final 1.5 kilometers to \u00c5re Nature Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight kilometers from the nearest road, H\u00e5llfj\u00e4llets turist station is a destination worth going the extra mile for. Reached on foot, skis, or snowmobile, this beautifully restored mountain lodge from the 1940s combines the peaceful solitude of the mountains with exceptional food and warm, personal hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the dining room, thoughtfully crafted dishes showcase vegetables grown in the lodge's own gardens in Ottsj\u00f6, alongside ingredients sourced from the surrounding region. And then there's the wine cellar, an unexpected discovery in a place so far off the beaten path. Here, there's no need to rush. Getting there:<\/strong> Reaching H\u00e5llfj\u00e4llet takes a little more effort than your average drive, and that's part of what makes it so special. The journey begins in Ottsj\u00f6, about 20 minutes by car from Unders\u00e5ker train station and 30 minutes from \u00c5re. This is where the road ends and an eight-kilometer trail winds its way up into the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Ottsj\u00f6, the adventure continues on foot, skis, or snowmobile. If you choose to hike or ski, you'll have plenty of time to soak up the mountain scenery along the way. After all, getting there is part of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are mountain restaurants. And then there's Skiers H\u00fctte, tucked away on the slopes of \u00c5reskutan. Think bubbling cheese fondue, delicious raclette, and hearty dinners in a cozy alpine setting that brings a taste of the Alps to the heart of \u00c5re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting there is part of the fun. Arrive on skis or by snowmobile, gather around the table, and settle in for an evening of great food and good company. Rustic, relaxed, and exactly the kind of place where one more hour easily turns into two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skiers H\u00fctte welcomes groups with advance reservations, making it a great choice for friends or colleagues looking to turn an ordinary dinner into something worth remembering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting there:<\/strong> In winter<\/strong>, one of the most exciting ways to reach Skiers H\u00fctte is from the back side of \u00c5reskutan. If you choose this route, booking a guide is recommended. Contact Skiers H\u00fctte for help planning your adventure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another option is to start at \u00c5reguiderna's snowmobile base in Bj\u00f6rnen. From there, it's three kilometers uphill to the cabin, following the snowmobile trail and marked route. You can make the journey on skis or by snowmobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also traverse across the mountain from Fj\u00e4llg\u00e5rdsexpressen. Be sure to stay high and above the tree line, as dropping too low can lead you into stream gullies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summer<\/strong>, the route from \u00c5reguiderna's snowmobile base is ideal for hiking, mountain biking, or trail running. Three summer trails pass right by the cabin: Bj\u00f6rnens triangel (221), \u00c5reskutan runt (211), and Lillskutan (216). You can find all three on \u00c5re Trails<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
