There’s a great selection of lunch places and slope restaurants in Åre and we dare claim that there’s something for every taste bud. Keep on reading to find some really nice places where you can enjoy your lunch, in Åre, on the slopes and at some gems located outside of Åre town.
At Mt Åreskutan
Buustamons fjällgård. Take the road towards Ullådalen and then tracked vehicle (booking required) or hike via trail 210/203. Buustamon has a great tradition and has hosted guests for generations. Great atmosphere and amazing food.
Located by the children's ski area in Rödkullen, Rautjoxa serves a daily lunch special, hearty goulash soup, homemade pastries, and plenty of other favorites.
Inside Rödkullen’s warming hut, BaseCamp Rödkullen offers hot dogs, sandwiches, coffee and pastries, plus simple dishes you can heat up yourself.
Tucked away beside Igloo Åre at the top of the VM8 lift, Waffle Cabin (Våffelkåtan) serves freshly made waffles with a variety of delicious toppings.
BaseCamp Åreskutan, located inside the cable car top station, offers a wide range of food, drinks and pastries. It’s easy to get there from the gondola and there’s something on offer for everyone.
At the top of the Hummel lift, Hummelstugan serves everything from homemade meals and wood-fired pizza to coffee and pastries.
Nestled in the middle of Stjärnbacken, Årehyddan is just a 60-meter walk from the Bergbanan funicular's middle station, or an easy ski down from the top of the VM6 lift.
Fjällgården Hotel and Restaurant sits right by the base of Fjällgårdsexpressen and the top station of the Bergbanan funicular.

In Björnen
Carins krog i anslutning till Skidcenter Björnen har något för både vuxna och barn i mysig miljö.
Crowded House tältkåta is located at the top where the Hermelin-, Björnen and Vargen slopes meet in Björnen. Enjoy good food and service in this atmospheric tipi.
Copperhill is located at the top in Björnen and offers a great view of Åredalen. Just turn right in Björnen center and follow the winding road all the way to the top. Restaurant Niesti is located on the first floor.
Near Förbergsbacken, Lilla Tyrolen serves a well-crafted schnitzel—available in a kid-sized portion, too.
In Duved and Tegefjäll
Zoi’s Wigwam serving burgers, sandwiches, and light café fare at the top of the chairlift in Tegefjäll.
At the base of the same lift, Tegetornet serves pizza along with plenty of other lunch favorites.
Next to the Duved Gondola, Brödernas is known for its burgers, with salads and pizza on the menu, too.
Brödernas Åre
Lunch places in central Åre village
Broken Located just above Åre torg, next to Bergbanan. Broken have large plates of American inspired food such as hamburgers and Baby Back Ribs on their menu. You won’t leave hungry.
Grädda Walk or drive along Årevägen towards the Swedish National Alpine Arena. You’ll see the signs to your right. The food is inspired by the Mediterranean culture and is served in an easy-going atmosphere.
Holiday Club You'll find Eatery on the first floor and O'Learys on the second, giving you plenty of great options for lunch or dinner.
Lounge is located inside the Station House (Stationshuset) in central Åre. There’s a great variety of dishes to chose from, from poké bowls to pizza.
Max Burgers You’ll find the children’s favorite fast food restaurant at Åre torg. This Swedish fast food restaurant offers many vegetarian alternatives and have other things than hamburgers on the menu.
Mister French Enjoy a long lunch with friends or family in a great atmosphere at Åre torg. The lunch menu is a bit different from the evening menu and you can chose between everything from goat cheese salads to steaks.
Werséns brasseri and bar This has become a bit of an institution in Åre. You’ll find Werséns at Åre torg and you can chose from a large and different pizza menu or go for something more traditional.
Åre Bageri – Fyll på energi i en härlig miljö med kontinental känsla hos Åre Bageri som tillverkar allt från grunden och avrunda med något sött från den maffiga menyn.
Åre Crêperie is located in the old fire station which has been refurbished with great care. Their galettes come in a great variety of flavors and different toppings and the crêpes are amazing.
Åre kafferosteri This award-winning coffee roastery also have food on the menu. Their sourdough bread is delicious and you might experience new, or at least different, types of flavor here.

Lunch places outside of Åre
Backrestaurang Ripan Trillevallen offers an assortment of balanced lunches for hungry hikers and cyclists. Go via the E14 to Undersåker, go over the train tracks and across the bridge and make a turn towards Trillevallen. You’ll find the restaurant by the parking lot/lift station.
Bergstugan Fröå Go via the Åre XC-center in Björnen or make your way along the old Fröåvägen. Bergstugan is located next to the old mine so make it an outing for the day and don’t miss the waffles.
Köjagården in Edsåsdalen Edsåsdalen is a skiing area close to Åre and Köjagården is located in the center of the village. Enjoy a good meal with a great view. Take the E14 towards Undersåker, go over the train tracks in Undersåker, make a right turn after the bridge and just follow the road.
Vita Renen in Edsåsdalen Getting here requires some effort but it is worth it. Make sure to check their social media channels for updated opening hours before setting out. Go via the E14 and Undersåker, over the train tracks and make a right turn after the bridge. Hike or bike to the restaurant.
Vålådalens fjällstation The Vålådalen Nature reserve located to the east of Åre. In the winter a lunch buffet and waffle buffet on offer as well as lunch packages if you wish to bring your lunch with you. Take the E14 to Undersåker, cross the train tracks and the bridge and follow the signs.

Toppstugan Åre
At the top of Mount Åreskutan, 1420 meters above sea level is Sweden's highest situated café. Amazing view and the best and crunchiest waffles.
Rautjoxa
Lunch restaurant right next to the slopes and children's ski area in Rödkullen. Warm food as well as sweet treats.
Restaurant Sadeln
Restaurant by the Sadelexpressen chairlift. Daily lunch specials, dinner, and takeout pizza. Café & bar with live music in the afternoons.
Zoft
Here, you’ll have one foot in Åre and the other in the rest of the world. You’re always welcome—whether it’s for breakfast, brunch, or dinner.
Bibbos
Slope restaurant with a French-inspired menu on the ski slope between Tott and Fjällgården. Veranda sheltered from the wind at 691 masl.
Copperhill
Copperhill's own bakery offers homemade buns and other goodies. Cozy hang in the bar and lounge where it is great to have a coffee.
BaseCamp Åreskutan
Situated in the Cable Car top station. Various range of food, pastries and beverage. Possible to eat and heat your own brought food in the basement.

Årehyddan
On-slope restaurant situated in Stjärnbacken close to the middle station of the tram. Reachable by skis, bike or foot.
