If there’s one thing the people of Åre have mastered, it’s welcoming guests from all over the world. Accommodation in Åre has a long history: as far back as the 12th century, local farmers offered haylofts and stables to pilgrims traveling through the valley on their way to Trondheim. In 1895, Åre’s first large hotel opened its doors.
