Breakfast in Åre – worth waking up for

From fresh-baked bread to mountain views – seven breakfast favorites in Åre

Last updated: 11 July 2026

Breakfast: The meal of all meals. It’s said to be the most important meal of the day. Whether that’s true or not we can all agree that breakfast is a time for enjoying a break and giving ourselves a proper start to the day. The best is when you can get someone else to make it for you so you can snooze for a little longer. Åre offers a great variety of cafés and restaurants, and some of them also serve breakfast. Check out where to eat breakfast in Åre below.

Fjällgården

This is one of Åre’s oldest hotels and restaurants. Fjällgården offers breakfast for their guests but also for people who are not staying at the hotel. Just remember to make a reservation.

Grädda Åre

This bakery and café has personality and is well-known for its delicious bread and homemade ice cream. The latter might not be the first choice for breakfast, but the bread and the sweeter items on the menu definitely should be.

Holiday Club

Holiday Club Hotel offers a sturdy breakfast of many different choices when it comes to food and drink. While seated you can enjoy the cosy Holiday Club atmosphere.

Åre Bageri

Since 1984, Åre Bageri produces and delivers locally produced food and pastries in a relaxing and enjoyable environment. Enjoy a well and home made breakfast and round off with something sweet.

Åre Fjällsätra

Åre Fjällsätra in Undersåker is well worth a visit. The breakfast is solid and well prepared and is served in a traditional dining hall where there’s something to everyone’s taste.

Åre Kafferosteri

At the coffee shop run by the local coffee roasting company with the same name you’ll be served both award-winning coffee and a cozy environment! Here you will find the calm you need for a good start to the day. And of course there are other drinks for those who are not a die-hard coffee drinker. And if you are, you can buy some of their coffee to bring back home.

Kaffebaren Åre

More interested in catching the first ride on the VM8 than sitting down for a big breakfast? Grab a coffee from Kaffebaren while you wait for the lift to start spinning.

For the stay at home-er

Standing in line to grab the first lift in the morning is certainly not to everyone’s taste. If you’d rather stay at home than eating out, your homemade breakfast should at least contain some of the local produce from Åre. Check out this list to find your favorite edible piece of Åre. Also, the food markets offer great supply of tasty ingredients, local and other, that will take your breakfast to the next level.
