Celebrate the new year

A proper party often goes with New Year’s, and if you are not inclined to host your own, there are of course alternatives in Åre village. New Year’s celebrations at the classic nightlife venues Verandan and Bygget are the biggest in the area and guarantee both a big crowd and music worthy of a proper welcome to the New Year.

Celebrate the stroke of midnight in the square

Join the crowds and toast the New Year in Åre Square. It is free, cheerful and wonderfully atmospheric. A tradition that has existed since time immemorial. Okay, a bit exaggerated, but for a very long time. If you have not experienced this yet, we recommend it most strongly.

Eat well

Restaurants and eateries in and around Åre village offer New Year’s menus that will make your mouth water – and so do those up on the mountain. You can enjoy a delicious experience almost anywhere, so make sure to book a table in good time among all the places to choose from. Several restaurants offer special New Year’s menus and suppers, and a party.

Just remember to book well in advance, as many people see a New Year’s dinner out as the highlight of the evening – and rightly so.

Important information about rockets and firecrackers

It is prohibited to set off rockets and firecrackers in Åre village within the area from Kallströmsväg in the west, Frönäsudden in the east, Åre strand in the south and Fjällgården in the north in the Åre community without permission from the police authority.
