Hospitality

Everyone has their own idea of what makes visitors feel truly welcome. For some, it's clearing away the gravel after winter. For others, it's seeing the Christmas decorations arrive in Åre Square. Great hospitality is built from countless small details, but no single business can take responsibility for everything beyond its own doorstep.
That's why Åre Destination has a dedicated destination host responsible for the shared public environment. Among many other things, this role ensures the lights in the village's birch trees shine when they should, seasonal decorations are in place for Christmas, Easter, and other occasions, and the pump track is installed in the square once the streets have been cleared of winter gravel.
But one person can't create great hospitality alone. Before every season, Åre welcomes hundreds of employees who work closest to our guests. Helping them quickly embrace a culture of going the extra mile is something we all benefit from.
To support this, Åre Destination hosts a Destination Kickoff twice a year, bringing together seasonal staff from across the destination. The goal is to create one united team, ensure everyone knows where to find information about Åre, and strengthen the shared understanding that every interaction contributes to the guest experience.
