Åre is known for hosting events and for being a place perfect for gathering crowds of people and together do things we are passionate about. This year offers an exciting mix of sports events, music, food and markets. Pick your personal favorite and join in to experience all the sprints, finish lines and concert nights taking place in Åre.

OCTOBER 2026
Autumn Holidays in Åre 5 October–1 November
Autumn Holidays in Åre are all about spending quality time together, with plenty to enjoy for every member of the family. Throughout the season, the village comes alive with activities, cosy experiences and mountain adventures.
At the heart of the celebrations is our cosy Wilderness Camp. The campfire burns all day, every day, and you can try traditional wood carving, learn how to light a fire, or simply relax in one of the tipis in Åre Park. There's something happening throughout the holiday period, with an especially packed programme during Week 44, both at the camp and across Åre Valley.

NOVEMBER 2026
First Advent weekend in Åre, 27–29 November
Christmas arrives in Åre during the First Advent weekend, and the village begins to sparkle a little brighter. At Åre Torg, people gather around the Christmas tree for mulled wine, gingerbread cookies, and a Christmas concert, while the shops fill with new arrivals for the season and inspiration for those first Christmas gifts.
Around the village, look forward to in-store events, places to meet, and cozy bar hangouts, with the scent of mulled wine, roasted almonds, and Christmas in the air. A weekend to get together, look forward to winter, and feel Christmas in Åre begin.
DECEMBER 2026
Åre Vinfestival, December 5
At Åre Wine Festival, knowledgeable wine importers gather at Hotel Granen and Hotel Åregården for an evening filled with exciting flavors and new discoveries. Your admission includes tasting tickets, which you can use as you make your way between the importers, sample different wines, and chat with the people who know them inside and out.
A great way to discover something new, learn a little more—and perhaps find a wine you never knew you’d love.
December traditionally kicks off with Åre Vinfestival.
Lucia weekend in Åre, December 10–13
When Lucia weekend arrives in Åre, it’s time to kick off winter for real. Discover the latest ski gear at Åre Ski Test Weekend, head out as the winter lifts open, or hit the cross-country trails in Vålådalen. Meanwhile, the village comes alive with après-ski, restaurants, shopping, and Christmas spirit. Winter in Åre starts here.
Meet Santa at Åre Torg, December 23–24
Christmas comes to Åre Torg when Santa stops by for a visit. Kids get the chance to meet Santa, hand over their wish lists, and maybe tell him what they’re hoping to find under the tree.
A cozy moment in the middle of the Christmas bustle, with rosy cheeks, excitement in the air, and plenty of Christmas spirit.

JANUARY 2027
Pond Hockey, January 14–16
Lace up your skates and head straight out onto Åresjön. During Pond Hockey Åre, the natural ice below the village transforms into a hockey rink, with Åreskutan as the backdrop and plenty of fresh mountain air between shifts.
The tournament welcomes amateurs and pros alike, with the sense of community and the experience every bit as important as the final score. Expect hockey on natural ice, good times together, and unforgettable moments both on and off the ice.
4-on-4 (no goalies). Team size: 4–8 players. Game time: 1 x 20 minutes running time.

MARCH 2027
Men’s Alpine World Cup, March 13–14
On March 13–14, 2027, the Men’s Alpine World Cup returns to Åre.
The world’s best skiers will take to the start gate as giant slalom and slalom races unfold at Sweden’s national alpine arena. Beyond the competition, an entire weekend of activities, events, and experiences will bring the village to life.

APRIL 2027
Åre Business Forum April 7–9
Over three days, Åre Business Forum brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and decision-makers from the worlds of business and politics in Åre. Current topics around growth and the future of business are mixed with inspiration, new connections, and conversations that can just as easily happen on the ski slopes as between sessions.
The final weekend of the Swedish Slopestyle Tour brings some of Sweden’s top freeski and snowboard athletes to Åre. Over three days, riders compete in Big Air and Slopestyle, with qualifiers and finals deciding the top spots in the national competition series.

Åre Sessions returns 22–25 April, bringing music, mountain adventures, and festival vibes together for the ultimate end-of-season celebration. From stages on the slopes to indoor venues throughout the village, some of the Nordic region’s most exciting artists take center stage.
But Åre Sessions is about more than music. Think yoga, ski touring, ski lessons, and unexpected surprises along the way. Four days of spring skiing, great music, and everything that makes this time of year in Åre so special.

Workout Åre May 28–30
Workout Åre is a three-day fitness event in Åre, Sweden’s largest mountain sports destination. The ambition is to make Workout Åre Sweden’s leading meeting place for anyone passionate about the latest in fitness, health, and wellness. The event features more than 140 classes.
