Dirt & Pump Tracks in Åre

In addition to all of Åre’s Bike Park trails, cross country and country road cycling, there’s also a dirt and pump track. A soft hangout during the long summer evenings and a great alternative to other biking options.

# Dirt track

A dirt track is a track built in gravel with a series of jumps suitable for BMX and mountain bike. The ÅBC-Dirt track in Åre is about a 10 minute walk west from Åre Square. Take Årevägen and turn left below Grädda Bakery. The track is located right next to Lake Åresjön. There is a BBQ area, however, ice cream and coffee breaks at Grädda are mandatory. The dirt track is managed and shaped by non-profit forces through the association Åre Bergscyklister.

# Pump tracks

A pump track is where you literally “pump” with your feet and legs to keep your momentum going. Riding on a pump track is relatively simple and fits all ages and experience levels. It’s a perfect spot for those too small to ride in Åre Bike Park. Great fun in combination to make you a better cyclist! Suitable even for a kick bike, skateboard or inline skates.

You can find one of Åre’s pump tracks in the center of Åre Square, open for everyone to ride freely every day of the week.

In Björnen’s trail center there is a pump track built in gravel, as part of the technique training area. Perfect to enjoy lap after lap and then reward yourself with something cold and tasty afterwards!

Åre’s newest pump track is a 210 meter long paved course, complete with a variety of waves, nice curves and wallride. The pump track is located at the Alpine National Arena with bleachers and all the technical infrastructure ready to host big events. It has come about thanks to the Åre Bergcyklister cycling club, if you like hanging out here, please give them a contribution by becoming a member.
