Teodor – Episod i Vikens Kapell

On August 6 this year, it marks 40 years since Beppe Wolgers passed away.

To honor his memory, the performance Episode at Viken Chapel—a grandchild’s musical journey in the footsteps of his grandfather Beppe—is going on tour across Jämtland.

Composer and pianist Teodor Wolgers (b. 1993) never met his grandfather Beppe Wolgers (1928–1986)—a poet, writer, satirist, and actor. In an effort to get to know him, Teodor traveled in the summer of 2023 to the Jämtland that Beppe so often portrayed in his poetry, writings, and in the film Dunderklumpen. With him, he brought a copy of Beppe’s poetry collection Episode at Viken Chapel, written after Beppe discovered the chapel in the village of Frostviken one summer day in 1972. That same chapel later became the starting point for the album Teodor created there 50 years later, inspired by his grandfather’s work. Teodor Wolgers was nominated for a Grammis in 2026 in the Folk Music category for the album Episode at Viken Chapel.

This concert is presented by Åre Kulturarena in collaboration with Åre Parish and is part of the Åre Craft & Art Festival, taking place in Åre July 22–26, 2026, with support from, among others, Åre Village and Tourism Association.
