#2 Climate-smart and comfortable travels

Travel to Åre comfortably and climate-smart by train. It stops in the middle of the village and has both night trains and direct day departures from most areas in Sweden. It’s also time efficient to take the train – if you choose a day train, you can start your conference while on-route and if you choose a night train, you can sleep well, wake up rested and be ready to kick-off your conference directly after waking up.

Once here, hotels, restaurants and activity companies in the village care for this place and help you make sustainable and wise choices. If you need to travel further you can get around Åre and the surrounding areas in a simple and sustainable way with electric cars provided by the car-sharing service Aimo Share.

In Åre it is close to everything. From the hotels in the village, it’s walking distance to shops, restaurants, hiking trails, ski slopes, conference rooms and the large congress hall located near lake Åresjön beach.

Adjacent to Åre there are two international airports providing a time efficient way of traveling here; about an hour away is Åre Östersund Airport and about two hours away is Trondheim Airport Værnes in Norway. Book your own bus to get your group the last stretch to Åre.
