Welcome to Fröå Mine – a place where history, craftsmanship and local traditions come to life. Start your visit at the Information Centre, where you’ll find souvenirs, tombola, raffles and fascinating facts about the mine and its rich history. Younger visitors can follow a fun treasure trail as they explore the area.

Throughout the day, several of the mine’s historic buildings are open, with knowledgeable guides ready to share stories about life and work at the mine. Visit the Water Wheel, the Rod System, Queen’s Mine and Pump House, Gustaf’s Mine and the Engineer’s Villa.

You’ll also meet local artisans demonstrating traditional crafts. In the Forge, coppersmith Wadin creates beautiful handcrafted copper pieces and is happy to share his knowledge of the craft. At the Craft Loft, you’ll find basket weaving, blacksmithing, textiles, handcrafted fishing gear and a variety of local handicrafts. More crafts can be discovered in the Sellstedt Cottage, and on Sunday you can even treat yourself to a relaxing massage.

When it’s time for a break, enjoy traditional kolbulle at the Mountain Hut, watch flatbread being baked in the Bakehouse, or settle down with a cup of coffee at the Moverar Cottage before continuing your visit.
