Mountain Weather? Find Your Activity
Photo: Holiday Club
Bad weather isn’t bad – it’s just different. Mountain weather changes quickly, and that’s part of its nature. On days when it’s in one of those moods, it can be lovely to head out for a shorter walk and combine your outdoor time with indoor activities — or with things that aren’t quite so dependent on clear skies and calm winds. Here are a few tips for days when it feels right to stay a little sheltered from the elements.
Grab a fika
WHAT? Home-baked, award-winning treats – perfect for breakfast, brunch or an afternoon pick-me-up. Choose a cosy café in central Åre or head slightly further out to discover new flavours and local gems.
WHERE? There’s no shortage of options. Find Åre’s most inviting cafés and bakeries here.
Treat yourself to a spa day
WHAT? Book a treatment or simply enjoy the sauna, pools and relaxation areas.

WHAT? Åre Sportcenter also has a climbing wall – perfect for trying it out or going solo if you’re more experienced. Try bouldering (short climbs without ropes) or challenge yourself with a rope and height.
WHERE? You’ll find the climbing centre in Duved, at Åre Sportcenter.
Visit a unique local shop
