Sex, money, love, and death—opera like you’ve never experienced it before.

What happens when Violetta, one of opera’s most beloved characters, gets on a bus—just seconds before falling hopelessly in love with Alfredo? She is terminally ill, but now she wants to live.

Violetta from Verdi’s La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places glide past the bus windows, she gives voice to her pain and longing. Together with Riksteatern, the opera platform SAD GIRLS creates an intimate opera experience where Verdi’s timeless melodies meet a contemporary, pulsing electronic soundscape. The performance features new music by composer and arranger Joel Janson Johansen, with a concept and new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling.

Along the way, a unique and up-close opera experience unfolds—immersing you in a world of music, desire, and drama.
