Åre Bike Park has more than 50 trails, of which 37 are downhill trails. All levels of difficulty, from beginner trails to technically difficult expert trails. These are some of our absolute favourites among Mt. Åreskutan’s downhill trails!

Easy Rider – blue

5,004 meters of pure cycling pleasure throughout Åre’s magnificent higher mountain terrain, from Kabinbanan’s (Cable Car’s) top station all the way down to Hummeln. With a wide, machine-dug trail that is unparalleled in Scandinavia, a multitude of velodromes, and a full-on magical flow all the way. Suitable for all levels, from World Champions to the first-time cyclist.

Månskogen – blue

A wide and smooth singletrack with velodrome curves and small jumps running from the WC plateau down towards Solstigen. Loads of beautiful curves in an equally beautiful environment. The perfect trail for the average cyclist.

Getrappet – blue

A continuation of Månskogen (above), starting at Solstigen and one of Mt. Åreskutan’s most popular trails. A smooth single track with great easy to ride curves, yet difficult to ride really fast. A challenge for all levels of cyclists!

Shimano – red

Just might be Mt. Åreskutan’s most talked about trail, and for good reason! Shimano is a 3,300-metre long machine-dug trail full of large velodrome curves and about 50, just as large jumps. An adrenaline-filled, laugh-inducing journey all the way down to Stjärntorget at the bottom of the mountain.

If you’re curious about trying downhill for the first time, here’s a list of our tips.

Serpentinen – green

A long and easy trail from the VM6 via the Hummel lift’s valley station down towards Stjärntorget. It’s a beginner’s first contact with downhill biking in Åre, and a great one at that.

Lilla Blå – blue

One of Mt. Åreskutan’s most popular trails, like a dizzying roller coaster on two wheels. A machine-dug trail with velodrome curves and just the right amount of jumps – which of course can be pedalled over if you want to take it a bit safe.

Flinbanan – red

A classic jump track that starts directly at the descent of the VM6 chairlift and ends down at Fjällgården with loads of jumps and velodrome curves to create some nice G-forces. The feeling you get from this trail is long talked about after, and don’t even try holding back your smile.

Cobra – blue

Åre’s newest jump trail. Suitable for everyone from first-timers to the faster and more experienced. The Cobra is wide, smooth and created with perfectly sculpted velodrome curves and alternates speed and turns with great jumps. In the middle of the trail you’ll find Åre Bike Park’s landmark, the wooden bridge Snurveln that turns 360 degrees!
