Midsummer at Fröå Gruva

Celebrate Midsummer, Åre Style

Midsummer in Åre means biking, hiking, and dancing around the maypole. This is when the entire mountain begins to open up for summer, with the Åre Gondola starting daily operations and easy access to the alpine zone. At the same time, traditional Midsummer celebrations fill the valley with music, dancing, flower crowns, and festive gatherings.

If you want to experience Midsummer the true Åre way, the answer is simple: do it all.

High Above the Valley

The Stjärnliften chairlift and the Åre Gondola operate from 10.00–16.00, making it easy to head up into the mountains. Lace up your hiking boots, pack a Midsummer picnic, and find a scenic spot to enjoy the views and the endless daylight.

Mountain biking is open in the lower zone. Information about cycling access in the alpine zone will be updated during Midsummer week.
