🇸🇪 The Cable Car Turns 50 – Free Rides All Midsummer’s Day

This summer, one of Åre’s most iconic silhouettes turns 50. Since 1976, the Cable Car has carried eager skiers and summer hikers up toward the mountain—and SkiStar wants to celebrate with everyone here in Åre.

On Midsummer’s Day, they’re offering free rides in the Cable Car all day. It’s a small tribute to five decades above ground, with views over the valley that feel just as breathtaking every time.

On Midsummer Day, we’re celebrating a little extra. The Cable Car will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, and Sweden’s World Cup match against the Netherlands will be shown at Base Camp on Åreskutan.
