The Atmosphere – the Village & the Mountain
Åre offers an amazing atmosphere. This village, at the foot of Mt. Åreskutan, is simmering with life and has a wide range of restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping, and more, on offer. It’s a village centre worthy of a larger city, paired with a breathtaking mountainous backdrop. It’s hard to put a finger on what makes up this atmosphere but it surely has to do with the village’s 1000 years of history and a strong tradition of hosting guests. While the village is buzzing, you only need to go a few kilometers and you’ll hear nothing but silence while experiencing the vastness of the mountains.

Sustainable Meetings & Conferences
Why not kick your work travel off with meetings or conference already on the train? Take the daytime train from, for example, Östersund, Trondheim or Stockholm, and dive straight in. An alternative is to take the night train and wake up fresh just in time for check-in and ready to start the day’s meetings. There are also plenty of local experts on organizing conferences and conventions, big and small, who are ready to help you to make sustainable choices before and during your stay. On site, hotels, restaurants and activity organizers are keen to help you to do the same.
Everything is Close by
Geographically speaking, Åre isn’t large. More or less everything is close by and you are within walking distance from most shops, restaurants, hiking trails, ski slopes and, of course, conference rooms and convention centers. You’ll find the train station in the village centre and there are two airports within reasonable distances, in Trondheim (Vaernes) and Östersund (Östersund-Åre Airport). On site, you have a number of cab companies to choose from, as well as local buses and rental cars alternatives.

We are proud of our five seasons which all have their own, unique, charm. Skiing in the winter might not need a further presentation, as it is rahter a given, but the fifth season (winter-spring), the summer and the autumn offers an equal amount opportunities to find new experiences. Cross-country and ski touring in the fifth season is truly amazing, as is cycling in the spring, summer and autumn, to mention a few options. Also, the restaurants and other businesses are now available all year-round.
