Road biking

Åredalen offers a variety of cycling. Country road biking may not be the first one you associate Åre with, but, we’ve got some goodies. Here’s list of six tours with different lengths.

Storulvån

Distance: 120 km | Ascent: 1600 m

Probably the most beautiful country road tour in the mountain that Sweden has to offer. Stunning, beautiful and challenging cycling up to the Storulvån Mountain Station. Enjoy it with a snack or lunch during the season.

For a shorter trip, take the car to Enafors and fill up with a little energy at Enaforsholms Fjällgård.

A short stretch on the E14 towards Undersåker before turning off onto the beautiful road to Edsåsdalen. After crossing the Indalsälven in Undersåker, turn right towards Edsåsdalen and take a break at Köjagården before heading home again.

Around Lake Kallsjön

Distance: 120 km | Ascent: 900 m

This hilly circuit of 120 kilometers of asphalt and dirt road around the large and deep Lake Kallsjön is perfect for gravel bikes. The view over the northern side of Mt. Åreskutan is magnificent and the little villages of Huså, Kallsedet, Konäs and Kall all have designated stops for sights. If you think the round is a bit long, it works fine to split it into two days and spend the night on the way.

Here you will find a map with information about accommodation, sights and coffee places on the tour Kallsjön Runt.
