The market arenas during Åre Höstmarknad
Åre Höstmarknad takes place in several places around Åre, Björnen and Duved. In Åre village there are several different arenas, including the main market lane Marknadsstråket, the Children’s market and a food court under the open sky.
Marknadsstråket – the main market lane
Location: Årevägen & Åre Torg. The market lane is on the main road Årevägen, it starts at the church Åre Gamla Kyrka and runs to the very western end of the road.
Marknadsstråket is the center of the autumn market and centers around Åre Square. Here, the focus is on various handicrafts, food produce and other high-quality products. Indulge in handicrafts and local artisan products.
Food Court
Location: Åre Park, in the heart of Åre between Åre Square and the old railway station house. Follow the market lane and turn downwards between the restaurant Werséns and the Peak Performance store, or start from the restaurant Ölkaféet in the old station house and head up to the park via the stone steps.
During Åre Höstmarknad, Åre park is transformed into a food court under the open sky – a festive place with local food at the center. Here you’ll find the market’s food producers. Get a bite to eat, sit down around the tables and enjoy the ambiance. Don’t miss the Après Market with live music at the Food Court on Friday 27 September!
The children’s market
Location: Kyrklägdan, the grass field right next to Åre Church. From Åre Square you follow the main market lane east towards the church.
Here, of course, the children are in focus. There will be activities, DIY crafts and other fun stuff to try!
Björnen & Duved
During the weekend for the Åre Höstmarknad, a lot of fun also happens in neighboring areas Björnen and Duved. The local businesses organize competitions, music quizzes, flea markets, dog parade and much more.
How to get here & where to stay
Good to know
During the market parts of Åre village will be closed for car traffic. There will be parking zones in Duved and Björnen, where you can take the bus to and from central Åre and the main market area.
Most exhibitors and vendors at the market don’t accept credit cars, so cash will be the preferred payment method. There are ATMs in the railway station, at the Coop grocery store and by the village square. To avoid standing in line, get prepared before you arrive to the market.
