During the summer multisport competitions will replace each other one after the other in Åre. The village is filled with well-trained athletes struggling for desirable medals, eager to beat their own personal goals. Unforgettable experiences in nature and pain from pushing the limits that comes with the territory. Whether you’re a fit elite, a happy exerciser or curious spectator, here is something for everyone.
St Olavsloppet June 24-27
Start the running season with a real running party. This is a 340 km long road relay that runs for 4 days. As the name reveals, the race goes along parts of the legendary St. Olav Pilgrim Route. From Trondheim in the west to Östersund in the east, and then reversed every second year. The race is suitable for everyone, from a happy exerciser to the elite and all variations of teams are allowed.
Åre Extreme Challenge June 27
Challenge yourself in the Nordic region’s first and largest multi-sports competition. Paddle from the start below Tännforsen Waterfalls further out into the Indalsälven, run and cycle over mountains and paths to get to the finish line at Åre square. The competition attracts both the world-class and the everyday exerciser and is available in four different competition classes. In addition to the main competition itself, you can also participate in the Run N Bike. At the Kids Event, all children can try out a fun test competition with cycling, running and easier adventure activities. areextremechallenge.se
Fjällmaraton Open Course June 27
Öppet Fjäll or Open Course 43 or 26 km are for runners who would like to test the Fjällmaraton courses under quieter conditions. Just enjoy and follow the marked route at your leisure. Food with local origin will be served at the check points and in the finish area. The extended starting time makes it possible to make it through the course without stress.

Fjällmaraton July 25 – August 1
Fjällmaraton goes off the charts and offers a whole week loaded with different running experiences in a festive ambiance. This week consists of 11 different races with the mountains’ magnificent scenery as common denominator, such as Salomon 27 K, Välliste around and Peak Performance Vertical K. Not to mention the full mountain marathon at 43K. The race is aimed at children, beginners, everyday and world elites. Swedeman Xtreme Triathlon August 8
Just as the name suggests, this is a more extreme and challenging variant of a triathlon race. The race goes through our beautiful countryside in Jämtland. Consisting of forests, steep slopes, beautiful and challenging terrain. Swim 3.8 km in the lake Öster-Noren, cycle 205 km and then a substantial lactic acid pass around the mountain Åreskutan at a total of 2600 height meters before passing the finish line.
