14 x autumn holiday activities

In Åre, a new adventure awaits around every corner – day or night, outdoors or indoors. Here we have collected 14 fun autumn holiday activities that are suitable for the whole family during the fall holiday period in October and November.

#1 Fly forward among the treetops

Zipline is a challenge where you slide in a pulley along a metal cable high up among the treetops – a really exciting adventure that will make the butterflies twirl around in your stomach. Choose between two different courses where the minimum age is 8 years on the easier one, the main course takes you along several routes over the Mörviksån canyon.

#2 Throwing the first snowball of the season?

We can’t guarantee it, but usually the first real snowfall of the year comes during the end of October. So pack a hat, gloves and warm clothes and head up to higher ground for sledding and snowball fights.

#3 Don’t touch ground

Below the Holiday Club there is an obstacle course for all children with a “don’t touch the ground” theme. A fun challenge for the whole family! If the parents also need a little rest, there is an outdoor gym right next door.

#4 Eat out

Pack a backpack with some good food to cook in the outdoors and head out to a nice camping spot, there are plenty of easy accessed places with a barbecue area where you can cook lunch, or dinner. Everything tastes better in the outdoors!

#5 Look for the Northern Lights

Now the northern lights season has begun in earnest and on the dark, clear evenings you may be lucky enough to see the surreally beautiful spectacle for real. The greenish light that dances across the sky. Changes color. Swipe back and forth. Fades, flares up again and then disappears completely. #6 Visit a spectacular waterfall

The Ristafallet waterfall, or Glupafallet as it is called in the story of Ronja, the robber’s daughter, is awesome to see in real life. There is a path to follow the waterfall downstream and nice spots to watch the roaring water rush by. Have you already seen it? Then you go instead to Tännforsen, which is Sweden’s largest waterfall, or one of the other beautiful waterfalls in the area!

#7 Jump around at the JumpYard

Bounce around on the trampolines or do a 360 and land softly in a foam pit. Try the zip line that goes up in the roof, climb one of the fun trails in Clip ‘N Climb, fight on the Ninja track or try the jumping game Valo. If you feel brave enough you buckle up the ski boots and try jumping off the ramp on skis. At the JumpYard trampoline park, the whole family is guaranteed to have fun!

#8 Learn how a glass is made

Get an insight into the art of glassblowing. At the glass works Åre Glashytta in the Duved railway station house, both practical and art objects in glass are designed and produced. The kiln is heated 24/7 and if you’re lucky, you’ll time your visit with a glassblowing session.
