Åre is known for hosting events and for being a place perfect for gathering crowds of people and together do things we are passionate about. This year offers an exciting mix of sports events, music, food and markets. Pick your personal favorite and join in to experience all the sprints, finish lines and concert nights taking place in Åre.

SEPTEMBER 2026
Åre Höstmarknad, 25–27 September
Åre’s famous autumn market is one of the largest events in the county. Over 150 exhibitors and 30 000 visitors create a festival full of autumn ambiance. On top of a strong and full program, there are plenty of other things to do during the autumn market weekend, suitable for large and small visitors.
OCTOBER 2026
Åre Autumn Break Weeks | October 5–31
Autumn break in Åre runs from week 41 to 44, with four weeks of family-friendly adventures, outdoor fun, and cozy autumn moments. At the heart of the celebration is the Wilderness Camp, where the campfire burns every day. Try your hand at wood carving, learn how to build a fire, or relax in one of the traditional tipis set up in Åre Park.
Throughout the autumn break, you’ll also find plenty of activities and events both at the Wilderness Camp and across the Åre Valley.

DECEMBER 2026
Åre Vinfestival, December 5
At Åre Wine Festival, knowledgeable wine importers gather at Hotel Granen and Hotel Åregården for an evening filled with exciting flavors and new discoveries. Your admission includes tasting tickets, which you can use as you make your way between the importers, sample different wines, and chat with the people who know them inside and out.
A great way to discover something new, learn a little more—and perhaps find a wine you never knew you’d love.
Lucia weekend in Åre, December 10–13
When Lucia weekend arrives in Åre, it’s time to kick off winter for real. Discover the latest ski gear at Åre Ski Test Weekend, head out as the winter lifts open, or hit the cross-country trails in Vålådalen. Meanwhile, the village comes alive with après-ski, restaurants, shopping, and Christmas spirit. Winter in Åre starts here.
Meet Santa at Åre Torg, December 23–24
JANUARY 2027
Pond Hockey, January 14–16
Lace up your skates and head straight out onto Åresjön. During Pond Hockey Åre, the natural ice below the village transforms into a hockey rink, with Åreskutan as the backdrop and plenty of fresh mountain air between shifts.
The tournament welcomes amateurs and pros alike, with the sense of community and the experience every bit as important as the final score. Expect hockey on natural ice, good times together, and unforgettable moments both on and off the ice.
4-on-4 (no goalies). Team size: 4–8 players. Game time: 1 x 20 minutes running time.

MARCH 2027
Men’s Alpine World Cup, March 13–14
On March 13–14, 2027, the Men’s Alpine World Cup returns to Åre.
The world’s best skiers will take to the start gate as giant slalom and slalom races unfold at Sweden’s national alpine arena. Beyond the competition, an entire weekend of activities, events, and experiences will bring the village to life.

APRIL 2027
Åre Business Forum April 7–9
Over three days, Åre Business Forum brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and decision-makers from the worlds of business and politics in Åre. Current topics around growth and the future of business are mixed with inspiration, new connections, and conversations that can just as easily happen on the ski slopes as between sessions.
MAY 2027
Workout Åre May 28–30
Workout Åre is a three-day fitness event in Åre, Sweden’s largest mountain sports destination. The ambition is to make Workout Åre Sweden’s leading meeting place for anyone passionate about the latest in fitness, health, and wellness. The event features more than 140 classes.
