7 x activities outside the ski slopes

Looking to find something to do outside the ski slopes in Åre? We’ve put together seven activities to start off with, both on snow and indoors. Which one do you feel like the most?

#1 Go dog-sledding

Join us on a dog-sledding tour in beautiful snow-covered nature. Family trips, evening trips with or with our dinner, two-hour trips or longer overnight trips. Ride along or lead the team yourself.

#2 Enjoy a cup of coffee

Take a break at one of Åre’s cosy cafés. Start the day with a large delicious breakfast buffet or enjoy the afternoon with a good cup of coffee and freshly baked delicacies.

#3 Challenge each other

Billiards, bowling, adventure mini golf and much more are available at Holiday Club. Or why not a game of Yahtzee or chess at the Creperie?

#4 Zipline high above the ground

An activity both for those who want an adrenaline-filled experience and for the family who want to experience something different together. Zipline is a cable where you fly over the beautiful nature around Mt. Åreskutan hanging in a harness. Choose from two different courses where the minimum age is 8 years for the easier lines.

#5 Shop ’til you drop

There are many small shops in Åre as well as some of the larger chains. Here you’ll find clothes, decor, crafts, toys, souvenirs and of course loads of sports and outdoor gear – everything in walking distance.

#6 Visit a frozen waterfall

Both Ristafallet and Tännforsen are completely mesmerising when part of the water flow is frozen to ice. Take a guided tour to learn more about the waterfall and the nature around them. For an extra adventure, climb through and explore behind the falls with JoPe Fors & Fjäll.

# 7 Take care of yourself

Focus on relaxation, energy replenishment and general well-being. Check in at one of Åre’s spas – enjoy treatments, take a swim in the pool or warm up in a steaming sauna.
