Autumn Holidays in Åre
Foto: Darren Hamlin
The autumn holidays in October fall during a period when nature is full of sparkling autumn colours. It is a time for snuggling up by the fire, activities and spending time together. Åre is full of activities for young and old, and in the Wilderness Camp, the heart of the autumn holidays, the fire burns all the time. In the camp, located in Åre Park, you’ll find guides who will teach you things like how to make a fire, the art of wood carving and much more. The early cross-country premiere is a hot tip, as is candle casting in Undersåker and climbing in Duved. Welcome to Åre this autumn!
This webpage will be updated as soon as the autumn holiday program, time tables etcetera, are ready for publication.

Activities
The heart of the autumn holiday celebrations in Åre is the Wilderness Camp but there are plenty of activities to choose from all around Åre and nearby. The autumn holiday program extends far beyond Åre village so make sure to keep an eye out for what’s going on outside the centre of Åre as well.
The mountain, biking, hiking & weather
The autumn holidays take place during a crisp period between the colorful autumn and the sparkling white winter. The autumn darkness, the temperature and the calm settle over the valley and there is endless time for family snuggles, crackling campfires and experiences in nature.
The lifts are closed but the bike trails in Åre Bike Park Trail in Björnen are usually open for mountain biking all through October. Some of the official hiking trails are usually open but there is a risk of snowfall during October so keep an eye on the weather forecast when planning activities during this period.

The weather is what it is and varies greatly this time of year. We can leave no guarantees: We might get the first snowfall or it might be warm and sunny. We recommend you pack a beanie and warm gloves, warm and waterproof clothing and sturdy shoes so you can enjoy outdoor activities without being cold and wet, just in case.
