Åre Bike Park Trail

Åre Bike Park Trail

In Björnen, a landscape of winding trails awaits—both uphill and downhill—built so everyone can experience the joy of mountain biking in the mountains. Here, kids, beginners, and experienced riders alike will find trails that spark both excitement and a healthy burn in the legs: flowy descents, smooth bermed turns, and just-right climbs that keep your momentum going.

Since the summer of 2017, the area has grown into a full network of trails. Today, there are 18 machine-built trails, ranging from the easiest green runs to more challenging red and black lines. The green and blue trails are generally free from roots and rocks, while the more advanced trails deliver plenty of natural roughness, jumps, and a faster, more technical ride. Boardwalks and bridges help keep the trails dry and durable while protecting the surrounding nature. And once you’re out on the trails, it’s not just the riding that makes the experience special—the scent of sun-warmed spruce mixes with crisp mountain air and the sound of small streams running nearby.

Alongside the 18 trails, you’ll also find a pump track and a skills area where both kids and adults can play, practice, and build confidence on the bike. Whether you’re riding a full-suspension trail bike or a simpler hardtail, the same sense of flow and playfulness runs through the trails. Out here, it’s more about the feeling in the forest than the bike you’re on.

The Trail Center in Björnen is the starting point. Here you’ll find balance features, teeter boards, logs, rocks, and a flowy jump line—a playground for testing your limits and growing as a rider. If you’d rather head straight out into nature, that’s just as easy: the parking area is only a few pedal strokes from the trails.

The trails are named after the historic Fröå Copper Mine nearby—Mineralen, Stubinen, Tändhatten, and Stånggången. Each trail has its own personality, but all share the same sense of movement, nature, and freedom. Here, you can get to know them a little better before heading out.

It’s easy to get started here, easy to get hooked—and hard not to smile.

Åre Bike Park Trail – all you need to know

In and around Björnen, the XC trails wind through the landscape in loops of varying lengths and difficulty levels. Some are short, green or blue trails where both kids and adults can get a first taste of riding singletrack. Others are longer and more demanding, with climbs that make you work a bit harder and the occasional jump on the way down—if you’re up for it.

What they all share are the beautifully bermed turns that let you carry speed and feel that little rush in your stomach as you ride.
