World Class River Rafting in Åre

In Åre looking for a real adventure and a wet one? River rafting is a beautiful, wild and crazy adventure ready to provide you with adrenaline highs and the sounds of roaring water to tickle your senses. River rafting is also an excellent test of the cooperation skills in the group…

Here are two Åre companies that’ll guide you through the thundering rapids of Jämtland.

JoPe Fors & Fjäll

💦 Advanced Rafting in Vålån

A tough stretch in one of Sweden’s steepest ridable rapids. Be prepared for breath taking waterfalls, tricky passages, swimming through rapids and cliff jumping. The Vålån rapids are run between 20 May and 15 July. River difficulty class 1 – 4.

💦 Advanced Rafting in Gevsjöströmmen

A wet ride with steep and technical passages. Exciting surf down towards Storfallet (the big waterfall) where a 6-meters drop awaits you and adrenaline satisfaction is guaranteed. The Gevsjöströmmen rapids are run between 15 July and 31 September. River difficulty: class 1 – 4.

💦 Moderate Rafting in Tångböleströmmarna

Three medium-sized rapids must be passed here. A rafting adventure that offers excitement, beautiful scenery and a beach stop for coffee and stories from the past. River difficulty: class 1-3.

Äventyrligt

💦 Advanced Rafting in Vålån or Gevsjötrömmarna

Experience the force with swirling rolls and steep rapids. An adrenaline-filled journey where you can also test cliff jumping and surfing. River difficulty: class 4 – 5.

💦 Family Tour in Tångböleströmmarna

With a quiet start to the scenic Ånnsjön and further out into the streams, this medium-difficult tour offers adventures for the whole family. Try surfing a wave, swimming in the rapids, have fun and learn about the history of the area. River difficulty: class 2 – 3.

Tips!

  1. Bring with you: training shoes, warm socks, thermal underwear, rain jacket, towel and swimwear.
  2. Included: Wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, guide, safety briefing and lunch or coffee break.
  3. Check age limit: There are different age limits for the different tours.
