Valentine's Day ❤️

The day to show a little extra appreciation to those we care deeply about. Here are five great tips for activities to do together on Valentine’s Day in Åre:

Eat Waffles

Share some waffle hearts with someone you love. Go cross-country skiing or touring to Lillåstugan’s Våffelbruk in Ullådalen or Bergstugan at Fröå Gruva in Björnen. If you’re in the slopes you will find waffles at Lilla Tyrolen in Björnen, Toppstugan at the top of Åreskutan or Våffelkåtan at the top of the VM8 ski lift.

If you’re in the southern part of Årefjällen; head to Vita Renen at Renfjället, Edsåsdalen or Vålådalens Fjällstation for a large waffle buffet.

Go to the Spa

Slow things down and check in to any of Åre’s spas. Enjoy a couple’s treatment, take a few laps in the pool or warm yourself in a steaming sauna. Relax and enjoy a quiet moment together.

Take an Excursion

Kretsloppshuset is West Jämtland’s organic food and garden oasis. Located in Mörsil, enjoy their popular lunch buffet and all their delicious pastries inside the beautiful winter garden.

Both Tännforsen and Ristafallet are really powerful to visit during winter. The falls become enchanting ice creations and you can even go on a guided tour behind Ristafallet.

At Åre Glashytta in Duved’s Station House, you’ll get an insight into the noble art of glassblowing. Both utility and art objects are designed and produced in glass here. If you’re lucky you may get to see a glassblowing session on your visit.

PS. If you are in Åre without a car you can very easily rent an electric one from E-go or Aimo Share by the hour or for the day, perfect for a day trip with your loved one!

Cosy up in front of the Fire

Few things are as cosy as a crackling fire when it’s cold and ridged outside, and the great thing is that most hotel lobbies have one. Bring a friend or a good book and sink into an armchair, fill your glass with something tasty and enjoy the warmth emanating from the fire.

Love Skiing

Strap on your ski boots, grab your skis and head out to the slopes together, the pistes are soft and welcoming with plenty of turning space. Or why not put on the cross-country skis and spend the day on the trail together. Tip, make a stop with a cozy picnic or treat yourself with a coffee at Fröå Gruva or Vita Renen.
