Captivating waters!

There is plenty of captivating water in Årefjällen and just as many water activities to try. Swimming in a mountain stream can be a life changer, but there are plenty of other activities to do on and in the water around Åre as well. Check out the list below to find your favourite activity.

Bathing

You may not hear of long, white-stretched sandy beaches and palm trees in connection with Åre, but there are plenty of breath-taking natural baths and cooling rapids in and around Åre village. White Water Rafting

Throw yourself into surging rapids and feel the white water around you! Sit with your group and an experienced guide in an inflatable raft that follows the currents down the rapids. Rafting may sound dangerous, but with a knowledgeable guide and the right degree of difficulty on the rapids, this activity actually suits most people. It’s all about teamwork! See more here >>

Fishing

Fishing is a meditative activity both alone and in groups! You must have a fishing license and information on where to rent a boat can be found at the Tourist Office. Kayaking

The streamlined kayak allows you to push forward in wild waters, enjoy a heavy workout or just enjoy calm waters – the possibilities are endless in a kayak. You can either rent one and paddle on your own or take a tour with a guide with the equipment included. SUP – Stand Up Paddle boarding
